To be honest, I’ve only ever been interested in people who I thought could fix me or make me feel better. Quiet, loud, confident, timid, it varies. I just always look selfishly for what they have to offer me. I think that’s why I’ve never been in love.

Day 22 - How have you changed in the past 2 years?

Two years ago I was a freshman and I was just getting into high school. I didn’t really have any close friends because they all seemed to be going off in different directions and I relied a lot on what other people thought about me. I judged everyone on who they were friends with and was still stuck in the middle school mindset. Since then I’ve worked a lot of the issues in my head out and I decide how I feel about people based on who they really are. And I don’t care as much what people think about me, I am who I am and pretending otherwise is a waste of time.

Day 20 - How important you think education is.

I think being exposed to a lot of different things is really important. But I think it goes beyond algebra, history, math, and science. Instead of learning imaginary numbers I’d rather have the option to do that or study animals or look into different methods of painting. I think that we should have broad areas of study to choose one of the options for a course

Day 19 - Disrespecting your parents.

I struggle with my parents rules because I have this overwhelming feeling that following other people’s rules makes me waste my life not doing the things that I want to be doing. I love my parents and they know that, and I try and follow their rules as much as they can to avoid hurting them.

Day 18 - Your beliefs.

I believe in honesty, I believe in the strength of love, I believe that people can change. I believe that everyone is beautiful, I believe that people have the power to do whatever they want. I believe that the education system is faulty, I believe that by following rules made by others we are wasting our lives away except for the rules that we have to respect each other and not rape, abuse and kill. I believe that war is horrible and that everyone should just talk things out. I believe in trust, I believe that secrets aren’t for keeping. I believe in writing, therapy, and conversation. I believe in the dark, I believe in magic, and I believe in others. I believe in seeing other cultures, learning from other people, and giving extra chances. Day 17 - Your highs and lows of this past year.

Highs: Getting into peer leadership, meeting and spending two weeks with fridayiminlovex in England and Scotland, being in Scotland and feeling all kinds of crazy love for a lot of different people, meeting John Green, Creative Writing class, writing the 50,000 words of raw material of what could become my first novel in 30 days, telling the secrets that were sitting on my aching chest, learning to be friends with the people who love me and to give up on those who don’t.

Lows: Breaking the hearts of the boys who loved me, being strangled with twisted emotions every single day, dealing with talking about the secrets that were sitting on my aching chest, struggling to figure things out, feeling alone.

what i really want for christmas

-something to cure my horrid dry wintery skin

-a significant other who is not stressful to be with

-a lot of cuddles

-comfy bedsheets & covers as i have managed to rip two sheets in one single month because apparently i fight and kick in my sleep..

-the perfect cup of tea

-for my room to be significantly less cluttered

-to get my tongue pierced

-to finish my novel

I remember being in preschool and riding around on the little indoor bikes they had, and the crazy race during playtime to get the two best bikes. Also I remember western day when I wore a straw hat and milked a “cow” aka a rubber glove.

Day 13 - Somewhere you’d like to move or visit.

I want to move to Edinburgh, Scotland. I want to visit Ireland, Germany, and every state in the U.S. mainland. (Cause I just don’t really care about Hawaii and Alaska.) I want to visit places that are unlike where I’ve seen before. I want to visit volcanoes and climb mountains.
